Five Tips for a Fruitful Lenten Journey

  • Pray with your family. Take advantage of the prayer opportunities offered at our parish and in the greater community. Download the Lenten Family Kit from CRS Rice Bowl to use as a guide for your Lenten practice.
  • Pray with the community. Make time for Confession on Friday and Wednesday evenings. Attend weekday Masses. Plan ahead to participate fully in our beautiful Holy Week services.
  • Practice fasting and abstinence. Giving something up for Lent is more than a tradition - it is a way to remind ourselves of the things that hinder us from having a closer relationship with God. To learn more, read the Seattle Archdiocese Official Guidelines for Lent.
  • Reach out to those in need. Just as Jesus gave Himself for us, we are also called to give ourselves for others so that we may be part of God's work on earth. Participate in the CRS Rice Bowl project or click here to show your support for our parish ministries.
  • Share the journey with others. Christians are called to be Good Samaritans - to share the journey with one another, especially those who are outcasts or strangers. Participate in the digital retreat, Companions on the Journey: A Lenten Digital Retreat.
