Children's Faith Formation & Sacramental Preparation

These programs offer comprehensive Catechism and Sacramental Preparation courses, designed to help build strong foundations of faith in youth. The children also build friendships, become connected with the St. Martin of Tours Church community, and have fun!

  • Faith formation

    1st to 6th grade

    September through May (in-home learning began September 30, 2020)

     

    1st to 6th Grade Students will take home their religion book and work 1 chapter each week. This is the healthiest possible practice for teaching, and families can learn together.

     

    The children will meet up with their teacher briefly after Mass twice a month on a scheduled Sunday to discuss their work.

  • Sacramental Preparation

    First Reconciliation, Holy communion & confirmation

    September to may

    First Reconciliation and Holy Communion

    Children in their second year preparing for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and Holy Communion will receive their weekly lessons and instruction by e-mail each week from Mrs. McCloud, and be scheduled for a series of teaching Masses throughout the year. Reconciliation Night will take place on October 28.



    Confirmation

    Individuals in 9th Grade or older (or in their second year of Youth Group) are eligible for Confirmation this year. Your intent to achieve this Sacrament must be shared with Fathers Michael or Thomas. These sessions include service to your Church and community, as well as attending Mass and all Sunday discussions.


    Sessions begin at 8:15 A.M. with greeting visitors and setting up for the 9 A.M. Sunday Mass, followed by class then attending and cleaning up after 10 A.M. Mass.   Opening Day is in October – stay tuned!
